“To be a designer is to be a steward of possibility. We search for outcomes that do not yet exist and in doing so we dive deep into the unexpected and unknown.”

As a designer, I uphold the highest standards, constantly striving to craft optimal solutions that balance resource limitations, technical constraints, and stakeholder needs. I reflect deeply on my own and my team’s design processes, always taking the initiative to drive improvements. Continuously, I ask myself, “How can I be more ‘user-friendly’ to my colleagues and make their work easier?” Whether it's providing voluntary training for developers new to Figma or writing comprehensive project journals for future designers, I am dedicated to fostering collaboration and enhancing efficiency.

Here’s what my peers, managers, and cross-functional collaborators say about my work (all from Cisco's employee recognition website, except for the last two).

Title: ‘Ideas for a CPOL’
Body text: 'We were a team of 4 people first time trying to come up with a patentable idea. Chen had several ideas that were interesting from a product perspective. Eventually, we selected one of her ideas and worked on it for a CPOL. Chen was keen on CPOL research, finding prior art, and understanding why and where they are different. Chen Li is a dedicated UX and Ul designer with an eye for detail and dedicated to producing the best experience possible for users. PAIRIN was lucky enough to have her on our team for a few months in 2018, where she helped us iterate, develop, and test new features within our core platform.
She participated in and drove all aspects of design from design thinking sessions to user personas to user journeys to wireframes to hi-fi prototypes to usability testing. Chen also started developing a new design system to help optimize PAIRIN's design process.
Chen is an asset to any design team and I hope I have the opportunity to work with her again soon.
